The ambitious young man wishes to go to Worms, capital of the Burgundians, to ask for the hand of the beautiful Kriemhild, sister of King Gunther. The latter accepts on the condition that in return Siegfried will help him win the heart of the fearsome Brunhild, Queen of Iceland…
