A man languishes in his big house. 50 years ago, a jealous suitor killed the woman he was to marry. One day, a friend offers him to adopt the daughter of the sister of his dear departed, who has become an orphan. The man first refuses, then accepts. The child grows up and quickly becomes a young woman. One day, she meets by chance the son of her aunt's murderer. Both fall madly in love, to the chagrin of the adoptive father, who then enjoins his daughter to end this relationship…
